School aged children diagnosed with ADD can be successful without the use of dangerous addicting drugs. There are plenty of alternatives to help these kids deal with their illness, however due to the lack of time American parents have to spend with their children, Ritalin has become the only option for most these children. Parents need to focus on the long term affects of Ritalin, and try the other less invasive alternatives before conceding to drugs.
