My Research Process

When I am searching for my sources, I use search engines and the library search database. I try to reword a lot of my searches to make sure that I am getting the most important and relevant results. I have been attempting to find information within a book that is not necessarily specific to my topic. For instance, a book is about gender roles overall, but the book has a small section that covers the stereotypes that women face in the media.
I would say that the easiest sources to find are sources that are extremely specific to my research topic. Things such as, woman's struggle within horror/slasher films. The hardest sources for me to find are the types of sources that would represent good oppositional stances to my topic. Maybe something like an author talking about man's representation in slasher films. I feel that it is important to find something that is not exactly like my topic because it will make my research and sources much stronger.
I am learning a lot of information from my sources. However, most of my sources have the same opinion so far. I am learning key terms that my experts would use within the field of my topic. For example, Carol J. Clover coined the term "final girl" in slasher films. Most of the sources that I have found so far have definitely supported my argument as far as having the same opinion and presenting good examples to support those opinions.
I am a little bit worried that I won't be able to find great sources that will give my research paper some edge. Obviously, I don't have the opportunity to interview a director or actor/actress that may have worked in a slasher film in the past. So there goes my chance to have a strong source in that sense. I need to branch out and really dig deep into some sources in psychology and/or sociology so that I will be able to create a good argument. It is also a little bit difficult to find 13 sources that aren't the exact same opinions as one another.
