One of my first sources is a parent who
has been a huge advocate for the rights of disabled children to be
included in typical classrooms. Her son is disabled and confined to a
wheel chair and speaking through a dyna vox. She has extreme
knowledge of all of the benefits and disadvantages for for inclusion
or non-inclusion of children in classrooms.
I will also be using a research article
by Ozlem Erten and Robert Samuel Savage titled “Moving forward in
inclusive education research”. In this article they research they
discuss how children with disabilities were put into special
classrooms and it became a “dumping” ground for these children
when people did not want to try to educate them. But with the start
of having Inclusive classrooms and starting to adapt classrooms to
include children with disabilities.
