This
article talks of some of the unintended consequences of the Chinese one child
per family policy. It mentions forced abortions and government corruption when
it comes to enforcing the policy. It talks about some of the mothers who have
been killed as a result of botched abortions and the anger caused in the
general public in China.
This
article is very good if you are looking at the other side of my argument and
some of the bad things to come out of this policy. Barbara Demick has reported
on East Asia on many different topics for the LA Times which makes her a very
credible source on my topic.
I
plan on using this source in my paper to show one of the counter arguments.
Demick argues that the Chinese one child policy has had only bad effects and
needs to be repealed soon because it has only done harm for China. This is a
good counter argument and I will provide information to prove that the policy
has been good for China.

ReplyDeleteThis article provided a good insight on what happens on a plantation in China when a mother of two is pregnant and deciding to keep her third, yet when forced abortions happen, it can end up badly. I think that your source, LA Times, is credible enough to use this in your article.
ReplyDeleteBarbara Demick is reliable due to the number of awards that she has had in the past. She is recognized journalist and has a wide range of expirience in her field of study. This article could really be a reliable source due to the fact of the ways that she gives examples of the many ways the one child per family is no the correct thing. She goes in depth with the negative effects that it has.
